Rooted in Recovery
A Therapy Intensive for Eating Disorder Recovery
When you’re ready for more than weekly sessions - but not quite IOP - this is the middle ground.
A focused, trauma-informed therapy intensive for individuals ready to move beyond symptom management and into sustainable eating disorder recovery. Blending self-compassion, nervous system regulation, structured meal support, and deep emotional work - this intensive creates meaningful momentum when weekly therapy isn’t enough.
If you’re searching for an eating disorder program in Michigan or Georgia, you may feel stuck between weekly outpatient therapy and a full Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Rooted in Recovery offers a structured, individualized alternative. We work together to create a custom approach that is most supportive for your needs at this time.
Assessment and Level of Care Determination
Before scheduling an intensive, all clients complete a comprehensive clinical assessment.
This allows your clinician to determine:
Medical Stability (this includes updated labs/medical exam from your PCP prior to scheduling an intensive)
Appropriateness for outpatient-level of care
Current symptoms severity
Whether additional supports (medical, dietary, psychiatric) are needed
If a higher level of care such as IOP, PHP, or residential treatment would be more appropriate
Rooted in Recovery is designed for individuals who are medically stable and appropriate for outpatient treatment. Your safety and well-being always come first. If a higher level of care is indicated, your clinician provide referrals and support you in taking the next best steps.
Who is this Intensive for?
Rooted in Recovery may be a good fit if:
You feel stuck in cycles of restriction, bingeing, purging, or obsessive food thoughts.
Weekly therapy isn’t creating enough momentum.
You need structured meal support but don’t require a higher level of care.
You want deeper emotional work - not just behavior tracking.
You’re medically stable and ready to actively engage in recovery work.
This intensive is appropriate for clients in Michigan & Georgia (telehealth) who are medically appropriate for this level of outpatient care.
What makes this different?
Many programs focus primarily on behavior interruption.
Rooted in Recovery goes deeper.
We address:
Nervous system regulation
Self-compassion and inner critic work
Trauma and attachment patterns
Meal support and exposure work
Nutrition education
Identity development beyond the eating disorder
Recovery isn’t about silencing parts of you. It’s about understanding them - and strengthening your healthy self.
